What Defines Success and Failure?

Success versus failure - this is an important topic

I thought this was worth writing because some people out there are trying to figure out what success is, and at the same time trying to achieve success and they often think they're a failure without the proper definitions of success and failure. That said, how would they ever know whether they succeeded or failed then?

What is success?

Honestly, success is whatever we want it to mean, and is what we make it ot be. In other words, success is relative, in the eyes of the beholder, and it's defined by us to a great extent. Mosat people just don't realize how much this is so. Now I will say this...there is probably a certain amount or baseline level of success we can all agree on. But again, the extent or the amount is relative.

For instance, to one man making $100,000 is a great success, while to another that's barely enough to get by. Therefore it is relative.

So what is failure?

Failure is also somewhat relative. For one person, failure could be getting less than an A in school. For another person, failure is getting a D or maybe even just an F.

So what makes the difference between success and failure?

Some think that the smarter or more intelligent are always the most successful. Now I will say that they do have a greater tendency to be more successful, or at least a greater advantage and opportunity...but all in all they are not necessarily the most successful. Neither are those that always work the hardest...

This is where the 80-20 rule comes in.

If you're intelligent and you try hard your 80% likely to be successful. If you're not so intelligent and try hard you're still 80% likely to be successful. Based on how you define success, you will either realize it or you won't. Contentment is also a large factor in this, and will be discussed later. Till then, hope this helped!
